I’m excited to share an advance look at my new painting project, with selected works on view at the gallery in late October.
Drawing on my Scandinavian heritage, this new series explores animals as symbolic figures, creating a subconscious connection that evokes Nordic themes through both form and style. The paintings feature subtle color palettes paired with bold, often flat brushwork and striking geometric shapes. I build texture using a range of innovative tools and techniques, inviting viewers to discover a primal resonance within quiet, minimalist compositions. Through the interplay of geometry, line, and gesture, I aim to craft a visual language imbued with silent intensity and contemplation.
Each painting, measuring 6 x 8 or 8 x 10 inches, is created on 100% cotton oil paper from Arches, a prestigious mill in northeastern France dating back to 1492. The selected works will be handsomely framed, highlighting each artwork’s quiet strength. I look forward to welcoming you to the gallery to see them in person.
