A Place in Vermont is an ongoing project where nature and design, wild and tame, rustic and refined, care and beauty, then and now, intersect.

A Place in Vermont is a private, four-hundred-acre property on Barberry Hill in Woodstock and home to generations of a family who are custodians of natural habitats for wildlife, plant life, and ecosystems. It is their ongoing project where nature and design, wild and tame, rustic and refined, care and beauty, then and now, intersect.

It is also where Glenn Suokko’s painting studio is located, the space where he creates artwork. The generous, evolving landscape with its majesty and gentleness, scale and intimacy, history and freshness, quietude and privacy, beauty and imperfection, is what inspires his work as a painter.
