Convergence

2024

This series investigates the meeting of land and sky—where trees, hills, and mountains compress into rhythm and form. Built through accumulation and removal, the paintings favor suggestion over depiction, allowing memory and atmosphere to guide the image.

In these paintings, the process is as essential as the image. Scratched surfaces, exposed underlayers, and soft transitions capture the energy of nature without resorting to realism. I’m interested in how the landscape can be reduced to rhythm and form—how painting itself becomes a convergence of memory, motion, and atmosphere.

Many of these exhibitions grow out of ongoing themes and studio projects explored elsewhere on the site.

Works shown in past exhibitions may be in private collections; current works are noted as available and may be viewed on the Paintings pages or by inquiry.
